Sonny

As one of South Africa’s most exciting young street artists of recent years, British-born Sonny has become known for using the streets as his own personal gallery, with his large-scale murals featuring prominently across the urban landscape.

Taking influences from his African surroundings and wildlife, his vibrant work often fuses the natural world with elements of fantasy and geometric shapes. A relative newcomer, Sonny has played an active role in the South African street art scene since 2014, painting in various locations around the country and internationally. This self-taught artist is also currently working on his first body of canvas works to be exhibited in 2017.

The solo exhibition work combines classic wildlife imagery with a strong social message about the importance of wildlife conservation, highlighting the plight of the world’s endangered animals.
