The club program of V-ROX 2016 starts today in Mumiy Troll Music Bar
The music program of V-ROX, held in night clubs and bars of Vladivostok, starts today, on August 18 at 21:00. Adriel & Tuomas (from Burn the Ballroom, USA), the band La Vtornik (Moscow, Russia) and the project IX (Netherlands) will perform at Mumiy Troll Music Bar’s venue. It will be the only performance of La Vtornik within V-ROX, so the audience has the opportunity to listen to them only on August 18.
Burn the Ballroom (USA) is the rock project from Northern Virginia, which will be introduced at V-ROX with the support of the U.S Consulate General in Vladivostok. The musicians performed at the same staged with My Chemical Romance, The Ataris, The Misfits, The All-American Rejects, We The Kings, Metro Station and other groups. Burn The Ballroom have already had tours in Thailand, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Japan, France, England, Puerto Rico, and also numerous concerts in their motherland, in the USA. The musicians were also the participants of the festivals Vans Warped Tour and SXSW.
La Vtornik (Russia, Moscow) is one of the best new Russian light-pop bands who came out of the blue with the album «Танцуй» («Dance»). They play charming Moscow pop with sensitive dancing vibe and ironic texts in native Russian. They have already managed to visit the better part of Russian cities and to perform at the main venues of St. Petersburg and Moscow. You will meet such boys-next-door, who are easy to be imagined both at the next table in your favourite bar and in the covered with kisses poster above the bed.
The project IX (Netherlands) is founded by gifted Marnix Dorrestein from Amsterdam. His tracks are full of the extraordinary interaction: they breathe the melancholy of sixties pop, but are wrapped in fresh, modern productions, based on African styles, R&B, synthpop and electronic music.
The yoga program «Strength and Balance» will be held near the big fountain of Sports Harbor Embankment
Feliks Pak’s yoga program «Strength and Balance» will take place on August 19 from 11:00 to 13:00 at the wood planking near the big fountain at Sports Harbor Embankment. You need to register at the educational program of V-ROX 2016 in order to participate in it. It is recommended to take a mat, sports uniform and water, a pen and a notebook at your pleasure.
The peace of mind under the high load is the peculiarity of the methods «Strength and Balance». The course principles are based on the ancient text of the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali. The course consists of strength building dynamic exercises, static asanas, complexes of pranayamas and energetic kriyas connected into successions to develop the skills of the optimization of all the body systems under the heavy load without vital resources loss. These skills are essential not only for surfing but for yoga practice which includes work with special concentration and endurance of nervous system.
«Strength and Balance»’s classes develop body quickly, strengthen locomotor system, intensify attention, help to feel better the inner balance and the ability to turn fast from work with heavy load to relaxation. The successions of system’s exercises directionally stimulate muscles, internal organs and lead them to a new level of endurance, normalize blood circulation, clean energetic channels, build the work of endocrine and nervous systems, teach the mind to stay calm at an oxygen lack and at a high level of carbon dioxide in blood.
Feliks Pak is a yoga teacher, a surfer, the leader of the yoga club «Aquarian Age», the president of the company «Reborn», the founder of the first Russian surfing school, the president of the Russian Federation of Surfing (2009 – 2013). He studied at yoga school of Swami Sivanada, yoga courses of Daniel Strausser, Yogic Sukshma Vyayama of Reinhard Gammenthaler, traditions of Dhirendra Brahmachari, school of Yogi Bhajan, got the initiation to kriya of Mahavatar Babaji. He finished the teachers’ course of Moscow yoga school. Feliks Pak is also the author of the tutorial course «Strength and Balance».

The sport program of V-ROX: From yoga and musical race to cheerleading and beach rugby
This year the sport festival will take place on the Sports Harbor Embankment for the first time within the V-ROX festival. On August 19 at 10:00 it will start with the musical race «Run, V-ROX, run!» and will continue with Feliks Pak’s yoga course «Strength and Balance». On August 20-21 the festival’s guests and audience will see cheerleaders’ acrobatics and dancing groups’ performances, will participate in a beach training in rugby and in volleyball competitions, will assess strength and endurance of crossfitters.

Special V-ROX 2016 mixtape
V-ROX — the main festival of the Free Port of Vladivostok and the biggest international music festival and creative conference, founded and curated by Ilya Lagutenko (Frontman of “Mumiy Troll” band) will be held for the fourth time 19-21st August. The festival slogan for this year is “People. Art. Cosmos”. More than 150 musicians, DJs and representatives of the music industry collectively from 11 countries will be coming to V-ROX. The headliners for this year are TsuShiMaMiRe (Japan), Zodiac (Latvia), Joel Sarakula (Australia), Burn the Ballroom (USA) and Nisvanis (Mongolia). Full programme can be seen here.
The festival organising committee have put together a special V-ROX2016 mixtape to listen, share with friends and prepare for the best weekend of the year. Beside the music, V-ROX festival fans are also able to watch official festival movies from 2014 and 2015.
Special exhibition of Aboriginal art of Australia will open in Vladivostok during V-ROX festival
«The Canning Stock Route: the art of Aboriginal people of the Western Desert» exhibition will open in Arseniev museum (Svetlanskaya St. 20) on August 19 at 11:00. In cooperation between Australian Embassy in Russia and V-ROX festival, Vladivostok residents and guests will have a chance to get acquainted with different works of art, which reveal the world of creativity, culture and nature of Aboriginal people of the Australian Western Desert. The exhibition will be available not only during the festival days but also after.
Canning Stock Route is a cattle route established in the early 1900s in order to develop cattle breeding.
The route crossed the lands that had been occupied for centuries by Aboriginal people. Before contact with the Western world most of their art was ceremonial, such as paintings on bodies, sand sculptures, totems and rock painting.
In July and August 2007 nearly 70 artists travelled along the 1850-kilometre stock route during a six-week project on integration with the country’s history. More than 100 artworks were created on that expedition, and many new stories and artworks were added to the collection, which was given to the National Museum of Australia in 2009. These are vivid, exuberant, energetic works created by artists with different levels experience of mastery and drawing technique.
The original artworks in the collection of the National Museum of Australia include acrylics on canvas, watercolors on paper, woodcarvings and works of fibre. Artists work in both conventional techniques and new figurative styles to pass on their common knowledge of the world through art.
The festival is spreading on the globe! V-ROX Showcase Mongolia successfully took place in Ulaanbaatar
In the beginning of August V-ROX gained new fans in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia saw the first V-ROX Showcase Mongolia. The organizers of the event Anima Mundi Entertainment introduced V-ROX to the Mongolian musical scene, fans and bands.
The best Mongolian bands Mohanik and The Colors, had already played in Vladivostok, performed at V-ROX Showcase Mongolia. Their live concerts are accompanied by pictures and videos from the previous trip to Primorye’s capital. The Lemons also introduced their music, the band Nisvanis — the headliner of V-ROX 2016 — also played their hits.
Thanks to V-ROX Showcase Mongolia’s success, the main festival of the free port gained new fans. In the nearest future not only the Mongolian bands, but the tourists and music lovers from Mongolia will come to V-ROX.
