Currently the main aim of the city administration is to form the infrastructure in Vladivostok in order to increase the city’s role as the center of international business and cultural cooperation of the Asia-Pacific region.
Vladivostok authorities pay much attention to the rich cultural life. Festivals, large sport events, forums, exhibitions, concerts are held in the city by sea throughout summer and autumn. International music festival V-ROX, supported by Vladivostok’s administration, became one of the brightest and loudest events.

«Ocean» is the biggest movie center of the Far East, it is situated in the favourite resting place of Vladivostok – at the shore of Sport Harbor. The architects G.K. Machulsky and B.I. Levshin designed the unique architectural construction in Moscow, it started its work in January, 1969.
Today «Ocean IMAX» cinema is a multifunctional movie center with four halls (880 seats) including the first and the only in the Far East ultramodern hall IMAX. The cinema is the main movie venue of the city. Various film festivals and the International Film Festival of the Asian-Pacific region «Pacific Meridian» as well, many meet-the-artist sessions, conferences, graduation parties are held here.
«Ocean IMAX» cinema provides not only an escalator, but also an elevating platform and ramps for people with limited mobility. The cinema has its own parking lot, which is supplied with modern automated equipment for parking cards usage.

In May thousands of music industry representatives and artists will embark on a journey to the United Kingdom to attend some of the best showcase festivals in the world. Our international team headed by Igor Lagutenko will be attending those events as a delegate speaker.

Panel: Meet the Buyers. A chance to meet and hear from the bookers of renowned venues and festivals from the UK and abroad. Panel will run between 11.30 – 12:30 on Thursday 11 May 2017.
18-20 May — The Great Escape, Brighton
International Networking Meetings. Hosted in partnership with The Department of International Trade, UK delegates are invited to meet with a number of international buyers looking to meet and do business with export ready UK artists and businesses. Sessions will run between 11.00 – 13.00 and 14.00 – 16.00 on Friday 19th May.
25-28 May — Liverpool Soundcity, Liverpool
Panel: Welcome to Asia the time for collaboration is now. With the music and creative industries being the fastest growing sector of all the UK economies and the huge interest in UK music from China, Korea and Indonesia which are at the forefront as the fastest growing markets in the world, we invite some of their most exciting companies working on major festivals, social media platforms, promotions and tech to discuss the opportunities for collaboration and world domination! “ Panel talk will run between 11:15 – 12:00 on Friday 26th May.

MORE Gifts*Vladivostok will be an exclusive partner with Mumiy Troll band (curators of V-ROX Festival) selling their official merchandise designed especially by the band for the 20th Anniversary of their first cult album Morskaya. The collection will go on sale on the 29th of April at 10.00am (+9GMT). Those who are able to purchase within the first hour should expect a small gift — an exclusive photograph signed by the band.
MORSKAYA.20 collection will involve no only the traditional band sailor tops but expect new creative design ranging from flat caps to shirts and to socks – all that can be worn not only to the live shows but also while being out and about; whether its a date night, going to work or the occasional party.
The truly special flat caps have an embroidered Vladivostok 2000 logo, a brand that has been created by the band and linked very much to one of their first hits and their city. In 2016 more that 150 guests from 11 countries embarked on a journey to the capital of the ‘Primoriye’ in the far east of Russia. For that year the festival theme was ‘People’, ‘Culture’ and ‘Space’. First days was dedicated to Space headlined by the legendary soviet synth/space/pop band Zodiac (Latvia). Second day was all about culture and was headlined a mixture of artists: Burn The Ballroom (USA), Nisvanis (Mongolia) and Joel Sarakula (Australia). Audience gave a particular warm welcome also to other guests such Shtuby (Israel), Dream Spirit (China), IX (Netherlands), Residence A (China) and many other artists who were in the lineup. The third day was a special day and the festival presented the best talent from the local region as well as two young aspiring project from the Junior V-ROX competition.
The official festival movie narrated by Anton Voronin was worked on by some of the brightest young talents such as Peter Starostin (sadwoodpecker.com), Natalia Rodina, and Alexander Bukareev.

A’Z Bus from South Korean who took centre stage at V-ROX festival in 2015 is coming back to play shows in Mumiy Troll Bar, Contrabanda Bar and Rocks Bar between 20-22 April. With strong rocking vocals from the lead female singer Wuju, it could easily be compared to Courtney Love. The audience are guaranteed a great night of rock’n’roll and It will be a show not to be missed.
A’Z bus rose to fame South Korea in 2013 after their first release and have received a number of key emerging awards such as the K-Rookie, Pentaport Super Rookie and EBS Hello Rookie awards.

V-ROX Festival artist submissions are now officially closed and we would like the thank all for taking time to apply. This year the festival has seen record number of submissions from over 20 countries. The festival committee is now going through all the applications and will be in touch with successful artists in due course.
The festival will give an opportunity to perform on one or multiple stages in the city of Vladivostok, take part free of charge in all festival events such as the conference, shows, art exhibitions, sport and other activates. The team will be happy to guide you in a visa process (if necessary), ground logistics and offer discounts on accommodation via festival partners.
V-ROX is the main international festival of the freeport of Vladivostok. A three-day music city festival, that has helped establish Vladivostok as an international beacon for the arts in the Asia-Pacific region. A combined music festival and international conference for the music industry. The festival gives unique opportunity for aspiring artists and producers to gain exposure — both to new audiences and to leading international music industry professionals and open a doorway into Asia. Curated by Ilya Lagutenko (Mumiy Troll band frontman), widely considered to be one of the most influential musicians on the Russian music scene over the last two decades and his dream is to make Vladivostok one of the major stops on the music and cultural map.
V-ROX festival will be celebrating its 5th year anniversary and looking forward to welcoming those who are ready to explore new horizons, create new opportunities and make an influence on others.
